Accommodation
This is a recently restored early 18th century brick and flint farmhouse and stables with oak beamed ceilings throughout, sleeping 10-15 people. The house has private parking and a landscaped garden with access to 9 acres of land, on which there are swings, outdoor badminton or volleyball, table tennis and a 12 metre by 6 metre, outdoor, covered and heated swimming pool with terrace, available from May to September. Five comfortable double bedrooms all with bath or shower rooms and WC en-suite. An additional bedroom sleeping 3, with fridge, shower and WC en-suite is available in a separate (16th century) building. Three rooms have twin single beds and two rooms have double beds. Clean sheets, bedding and towels once a week are included. Beach and swimming pool towels are not provided.

Open plan kitchen with six ring gas cooker (extra large oven and rotisserie), microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/ freezer, storage units and breakfast bar. Utility room with washing machine, dryer and exterior drying area. Upper and lower terraces 160 metres square with wooden tables, chairs, benches, parasol and built in barbeque. The house has been architecturally designed and decorated to be comfortable, spacious and practical whilst retaining its period features.

Local Area
Situated close to the Forest d'Eawy, the largest natural beech forest in Europe. Red squirrel, deer, wild boar, badgers, buzzards, hawks, owls and many other woodland species are regularly spotted. This is also the site of a recently found World War 2, V1 installation complete with (defused) rocket! The huge forest is large enough to walk or cycle around for days without repeating your route, pony trekking and riding are available at nearby St. Saens.

The 18 hole St Saens golf course is five minutes away by car. Based on a Scottish design, it rambles over a river valley and forested hillside. The clubhouse is a classic Normandy chateau where you can enjoy an excellent reasonably priced lunch or dinner. Green fees are 34 Euros for an individual and 54 Euros for two on weekdays 46 Euros and 76.50 Euros at weekends. Membership not required. Normandy is rated among the top ten most desirable golfing locations in the world.

Only 40 minutes away is the glorious Normandy coast, un-crowded, rugged and full of French charm with beautifully clean sand and pebble beaches below white chalk cliffs. Set amongst the many small villages are numerous restaurants with sea views serving freshly caught fish and seafood.

There are 7 very worthwhile gardens to visit in the area, 3 of them are within a 15 minute drive and numerous Chateaux or historical sites.

Rouen and its Cathedral, made famous by Monet's paintings and its medieval old quarter is a 20 minute drive. The old quarter has numerous shops and boutiques specialising in everything from hand made chocolates, designer clothes, perfume, antiques and jewellery and hosts numerous excellent restaurants. Paris is one hour and ten minutes away by train.

The now famous and ever growing Deauville American film festival in September is a chance to see some of the blockbusters and independant films that are going to be big during the coming year, there are always a host of big stars who are attracted by the event's relaxed and low key atmosphere.

Ten minutes away is Bocasse where small children and teenagers can enjoy an open air fun fair, or try the chateau at Cleres with its exotic animals and birds roaming the grounds, or the WW2 museum next door. Paris, Eurodisney & the WW2 Normandy landing beaches are within a couple of hours drive.

There are several excellent restaurants in the area and an exceptional choice further a field in Rouen and around the large marina in Dieppe. There are two large supermarkets and many smaller shops at St Saens 3kms away with a farmers market on Thursdays and at nearby Buchy on Mondays and Neufchatel on Saturdays.

Just under two hours drive from Calais or Boulogne.
One hour from Le Havre and Honfleur, five minutes from exit 10, St Saens.
Half an hour to Dieppe.

Dover - Calais
Shop around for the best deal, P&O Stena, Seafrance and Norfolk Lines all service this route.

Newhaven - Dieppe
Hoverspeed offer a fast 2 hour Superseacat service from Newhaven to Dieppe from April to September. There are 4 hour ferry crossings that run during the winter months.

Portsmouth - Le Havre
The P&O Stena ferry runs year round day and night with a journey time of six hours. it's a comfortable and convenient journey which can be made overnight with cabins available on board.

Beauvais Airport is an hour's drive..

There are flights to and from Glasgow Prestwick, Dublin and Shannon, Stockholm Skavsta, Rome Ciampino, Barcelona Girona and Milan Bergamo.
