Grand 19th Century Normandy Chateau set in 2 acres of its own private gardens. There is also a pavilion (to sleep up to 16) on site to cater for parties of up to 42.

The property is a traditional late 19th Century Normandy château accommodating up to 26 people. Four stories high, with a tower at each end, it sits on the hill overlooking the small town of Canisy and the surrounding countryside. The property is set in its own beautiful private gardens of approximately 2 acres, along with Le Pavillon and The Coach House, making it ideal for large groups of friends or families. Guests have full use of the grounds, including the snooker room, large covered indoor garden with table tennis, dining or party area, and fish pond stocked with Koi Carp. They are also free to use the private indoor heated swimming pool. Private parking is provided.

Special catering for Party Weekends, Special Celebrations and Christmas Parties. We are also able to provide prices inclusive of Ferry transfers, maid service, continental breakfasts, evening meals and celebration packages (champagne & flowers on arrival).

Facilities: The chateau is centrally heated and fully modernized. There is English television in most bedrooms. Television, DVD and video can be found in the lounge. There are two bathrooms with bath and showers, and a further two shower rooms. Altogether there are six toilets. The fully fitted kitchen has 1 range cooker and one standard cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, and two fridge/freezers. There is a separate room off the kitchen with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Wood burning fires in the lounge and kitchen.

Accommodation: Steps lead up from the drive to double doors opening into the large entrance hall with wide oak staircase leading to floors above. Off the main entrance hall is a downstairs toilet and hand basin and two sets of double doors. One leads off to the spacious lounge with 17th century moulded fire place in white and gold containing a wood burning stove. Normandy style beamed ceiling and oak panelled walls. There is ample comfortable seating and a bar area. The second double doors lead from the hall into the dining room, spanning the full width of the chateau with beautifully oak panelled walls, moulded ceiling and carved oak fire place and port mantle. The dining room leads into the spacious and well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and wood burning stove in the old stone fire place. Large kitchen table seats up to 12 people comfortably. A small laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer leads off the kitchen. The stairs from the hall lead to the first floor landing with a double bedroom situated between two separate areas that can be closed off from the rest of the chateau. This room boasts a moulded white marble fire place and two large windows with beautiful views over the countryside. To the left of the landing is the Alphonse Lemerre suite with small sitting area, family room (double and single bed) and a twin bedroom. It is decorated in gold and burgundy with ceiling mouldings, wall moulding and burgundy fabric in the French style with a white marble fire places. It comes with en suite spacious bathroom with separate bath and separate toilet. To the right of the landing is the Versailles suite with family room, a room with bunk beds and a shower room with toilet. It is decorated in gold and royal blue with moulded walls and ceiling picked out in gold; magnificent black marble fire place. Stairs lead to the second floor with a similar layout to the first floor: Landing leads to a double bedroom with TV between two separate areas.
To the right: The South Tower family suite: Double room, Separate child's room with bunk beds. The double room leads to an en suite bathroom with shower & toilet. Stairs lead up to a family bedroom at the top of the tower with a double bed and a single bed. The tower features exposed beams and wood panelling.
To the left: The North Tower family Suite: Large family room with a double and a single bed, twin room, sitting area, two separate toilets and shower room. Each suite includes tea/coffee making facilities and English TV. All rooms have ornate fireplaces, chandeliers and wall lights. Magnificent views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Surrounding Area: Ten minutes walk down the hill is the small town of Canisy, offering local shops, bar and restaurant. Horse riding is available by arrangement. Nearby, there is canoeing on the beautiful river Vire. There are several golf courses in the region, while the fantastic beaches of Normandy with their miles of white sand are just half an hour drive away, as are the D-Day landing beaches. The property is situated in the middle of what is purported to be some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, with plenty of scope for cycling, walking and picnics. The whole region is full of sites to see such as the towns of Coutances, Saint Lo, Granville, Bayeux, full of formal gardens, museums, parks, chateaux and stunning scenery. The area is famous for its seafood cuisine, cider, cheese and calvados. Fougeres and le Mont-St Michel are only one hour away, whilst Paris can be reached in three hours.
