market on Saturday mornings. The chateau played a real part in the art of life
and entertaining in the 19th century, with its period furniture and its original
4 acre park, planted with magnificent trees. Built by a general of the Napoleon
III's Army, it was the residence of a grand family from the world of wines.
Description
In the listed area of Saumur, close to the Cavalry School, you will walk through
the noble gates to discover the largest private residence in Saumur in its two
hectares green setting. Yolaine de Valbray-Auger will warmly welcome you under
the high carved panelling and the painted ceilings of the salons to make you
taste her family specialities. This one hundred per cent testimony of the XIXth
century way of life and entertainment offers high and large rooms to spend the
night under canopies, after a fresh bath in the XXIth century swimming pool.
Weddings & Receptions
The château welcomes weddings, concerts and exhibitions. Independent
caterer. The renting price includes cleaning and heating. The reception rooms
include the hall, the dining room, the big salon and a second salon (200 m² in
all). Typically Napoleon III decoration. Carved panelling, painted ceilings,
etc. The reception rooms are large and high and spacious. The bedrooms are vast,
elegant, light and charming. They have a view either on the park, or on the
Military Cavalry School, each with a luxury bathroom. 200 m2 of halls available
for your receptions, meetings and seminars, plus two vaulted rooms, of 45 m2
each, on the basement level.
Conferences & Seminars
The château welcomes residential seminars and non residential seminars. Total
capacity for residential seminars: 10 people in single rooms, 18 people in
double rooms. Total capacity for working days : 20/25 people. The seminars are
held in beautiful stone-vaulted rooms on the garden level. Meals are served in
the dining room (table d'hôtes). Prices include paperboard, overhead projector,
paper and pencil for everybody. The breaks include morning coffee and two snacks
(coffee, tea, orange juice, biscuits). Mineral water on tables.
