The
Château
is located on the left bank of the Charente, in the middle of a peaceful park
with its hundred year-old trees. The castle is a classified historical monument
from the end of the 14th century, one of the oldest homes of the Saintonge.
However, the site was already occupied in the 11th century by a powerful
fortress of which a chapel, for a long time was the parish church. You have the
possibility of renting on a weekly basis, either the whole site or the Castle,
the keep, or the cottage independently. There are eight high standard bedrooms,
of which two are suites to welcome you. All rooms have private bathroom. A
heated swimming pool and a sixteen acre forested park are also at your disposal.
The Château is located in the district of Poitou-Charentes, at 280 miles (460
Km's.) southwest of Paris, between the cities of Bordeaux, La Rochelle and
Cognac. This superb estate, full of historical memories, will provide those in
search of calm and romanticism with a perfect setting.

Crazannes
The tranquil village of Crazannes it's famous because of its stones and St
Porchaire. The surrounding area is renowned for its history and offers visitors
a wealth of attractions to suit all ages and interests. The historic village,
has a lot of bakers, butchers and bar restaurant and is situated about 15
minutes drive from the Roman city of Saintes (with 2000 years old). In the
nearby town of St Savinien there is a choice of good restaurants and a large
supermarket.
Conferences
The château welcomes residential seminars (20 people) and business days
(about 35 people). Possibility of table d'hôte. Three lounges are at your
disposal : the Relais lounge (20 people), the Donjon lounge (15 people), the
Pélerins lounge (50 people). 20 people can be accommodated in one suite and 7
prestige rooms in the castle. 2 double rooms and one single room are located in
the "Relais du Château".
The Château sleeps 10 people. Fully equipped kitchen, 2 large sitting
rooms with stone fireplaces, vast dining room with 15th century fireplace,
library. First floor :François 1st Suite with twin beds, bathroom and separate
WC and salon: Alienor Suite with twin beds leading to a second twin room,
bathroom and separate WC, Captain's room with twin beds, bathroom. Black Prince
Room with canopied bed, shower room with WC. Second floor: Pilgrim's room with
twin beds, bathroom.
The Donjon sleeps 6 people. It is the Keep to the Château, and is
situated to one side of the grounds, with its own entrance and car parking area.
It has spectacular views form its two sun terraces. The interior of the Donjon
is also beautifully restored and furnished, offering both elegance and comfort.

la Rochefoucauld room with king size bed, dressing room, bathroom and separate
WC, Second floor, Jean Acarie room with double bed. Bathroom and separate WC and
Marie de la Rochandry room with double bed, bathroom and separate WC.
The Relais sleeps 8 people The Relais du Château is a charming,
traditional, stone-built house of typical Charentaise architecture; it is
situated just inside the main gates of the Château and surrounded by mature
shrubs and trees of its own private garden. The lounge is enormous and has a
lovely arched window. Ground floor: Fully equipped kitchen, very large
dining/living room with washing machine and dryer. First floor 2 double rooms
and 2 twin bedrooms each with washbasin; 2 bathrooms, 2 separate WC.
