Perched on a
hill near the market town of Villefranche de Lauragais, 28km from Toulouse, this
restored stone château is set on a five-acre garden with mature trees and offers
views of the gently rolling countryside. On the Southern edge of the property is
a large, secure swimming pool next to an alley of evergreen trees. After passing
through the main gate, a 100m driveway lined by mature buxus hedges leads up to
the front of the Château. The main garden consisting of labyrinth-like trimmed
hedges has three separate garden areas ideal for evening walks and romantic
promenade. One of the garden areas has playground equipment including swings and
a sandy box for children.

The Sedona

The south wing of the Chateau has been converted into an independent 3 bedroom
gîte on the ground floor called the Sedona and is architecturally separate from
the Château with a private entrance. Central heating throughout, plus a wood
burning stove in sitting area.
Kitchen - dishwasher, washing machine, 6 burner-stove, fridge/freezer,
microwave, coffee/tea accessories.
Dining / Sitting room – with rustic table sits 6+ and wood burning stove, cable
TV, stereo, VCR.
Three Bedrooms - 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, 1 child bed.

The Sierra

The Sierra is the converted barn of the chateau, situated west of the interior
court. It contains a spacious one bedroom gîte plus loft, with stone walls, high
ceilings and a large chimney.
Kitchen - dishwasher, washing machine, stove, fridge, microwave.
Dining / Sitting room - large chimney, TV, stereo, VCR.
Bedroom - 1 king bed, plus loft with 1 double bed.
Bathroom.
The Local Area & Activities
The Château is located about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Villefranche de
Lauragais. Villefranche has all the modern amenities of a small town:
restaurants, grocery stores, bars, cafés, a nice gym and its own movie theatre.
This market town is located 28km from Toulouse, France‘s fourth largest city and
a bustling University town.
5km away is the UNESCO sited Canal du Midi, a favourite spot for Sunday
promenades and family bike rides. Carcassone, home of the famous ’La cite
medieval’ is 50km away. The beaches of the Mediterranean as well as the Pyrenees
Mountains are only 90 minutes away.
Horse riding stables are close by and there are trails for hikers and off-road
bicycling enthusiasts. The lake Saint Ferriol is about 20 km away and offers a
serene environment for fishing and water sports. The many market towns in the
area include Revel, Baziège, Nailloux, all within 15km.
Travel
Air: Toulouse International airport is 35 mins away. Carcassone airport is 40
minutes away.
Rail: Paris – Toulouse by TGV in 5hrs. Toulouse Central Station (Gare Matabiau)
is 25 mins away.
Road: Following Highway A61 south from Toulouse, exit at Villefranche de
