This castle
has stood for soon on one thousand years! Between Toulouse and Bordeaux, only 85
kms from Toulouse, 25 kms from Agen, 16 kms from Moissac and 150 kms from
Bordeaux. It used to be the dramatic and vigilant guard of the Steps of the
French Kingdom. Softening and changing with time, this fairy castle continues to
cultivate the warm and magnificent reception, not only for the gentle ladies,
the knights, pope, kings and capitouls (heading the city of Toulouse) but also
for you. The castle, a classified Historical Monument, welcomes you and you may:
stay there (historical rooms with various packages going from the breakfast to
the complete pension). Organize your receptions, festivals, engagement,
marriages, within an exceptional decor, or around the swimming pool. Carry out

Your stay at the castle - It will be first of all the pleasure of resting in one
of the six rooms. Magnificent, all rooms reconcile modern comfort (television,
direct telephone, superb bathrooms) and charms of the ancient times (old stones,
exposed and decorated beam): chimneys, hangings, mirrors, mullioned window,
stained glasses, coffered ceiling painted of the room Clement V, baldachin bed
in the room Charles IX where the King of France did stay for several months.
Conferences: The castle regularly welcomes business seminars, trainings,
business meetings in its prestigious living rooms equipped with splendid
chimneys and gazing at the park. The friendly atmosphere, the authentic
environment fit particularly well to the necessary broadmindedness to successful
meetings. The usual multimedia tools are readily available (overhead projector,
video projection, screen and paper board) and can be included in the package.
You can have access to internet connexion and any communication services (phone,
fax). You can relax in the bar lounge or around the swimming pool. If you wish,
historical visit of the monument can be organized as well, during one of the
coffee breaks for example.
Receptions: The main courtyard, the garden in terrace, the donjon, the
heavy and splendid centuries old oak frame constitute an exceptional framework
that your guests will have pleasure to discover. For an intimate atmosphere, the
dining room can welcome up to 35 people. The Room of the Guards and the Salon of
Honour Clément V can accommodate each one of them, up to 75 seated people for
your dinners or 120 people standing for your cocktails. We can also accommodate
up to 200 people outside in the park gazing at the Garonne valley or around the
swimming pool. And for your wedding, you can organize the cocktail in the main
courtyard, your dinner in the Room on the Guards, dance in the Living room of
Honour and spend your wedding night in the suit Charles IX. You can even choose
to celebrate your union in the intimate atmosphere of our charming chapel.
Nature: By foot, on the steps of the adventurers of the Middle Ages, you
will be able to follow the Way of Saint Jacques de Compostelle, or to borrow
other walking paths which all, will allow you to discover an exceptional variety
of landscapes, strewn that and there of churches, cloisters, old wash houses,
and dozen of middle ages villages like Lauzerte. Perhaps will you prefer to
leave the harbour of Moissac in a barge, just the time of a river walk on the
canal of the two seas or the Tarn river ?
Culture: Come and discover medieval abbeys, castles, country houses and
villages:
- Moissac, premium place of the Roman Art with its cloister and its abbey,
- Auvillar, country of the troubadour Marcabru
- Valence of Agen, and its wash houses and markets.
Gastronomy: You can taste, directly from the producer foie gras, prunes
of Agen or grape Chasselas, and other duck specialities... what a delight!
Activities: If you like hiking, the park and the wood of the castle (20
hectares) can be the opportunity of many walks. The golfers will find in the
vicinity a nine hole course at 6 kilometres from the Castle. The Golf of “Espalais”,
a beautiful golf track on the bank of the Garonne decorated with very beautiful
water obstacles, easily combines difficulties and possibilities of easy play. If
your passion is horse riding, no problem, a specialised horse riding
organisation is situated less than 5 minutes driving from the Castle. You will
find horses and ponies for the youngest. Do you feel like playing tennis or
practising water skiing? Just let us know. You will find even more in the
immediate vicinity of the castle. Perhaps you may prefer to rest in the intimacy
and the comfort of the caste, relax in a long chair and dream about the old ages
or drink a cocktail around the swimming pool.
