This idyllic
18th Century Manor House is set in its own 24-acre park bordered by the wooded
banks of the river Armancon. It is the perfect place for a holiday. The house is
maintained to a high standard with a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. It has a
heated fully fenced swimming pool, grass tennis court, walled garden, avenue,
barbecue, table tennis, fishing, its own boat on the river and even its own
small island. The house with its marbled hall, curving staircase and tall
windows combines elegance and comfort. It sleeps 6-16+ (up to 10-12 in the main
house and 4+ in the adjoining barn which also has a beautiful music room with a
grand piano). The Main House is excellent for smaller as well as larger parties.
We have a wonderful cook and helpful maids/babysitters who live in the adjoining
village of Cry-sur-Armancon (15mins to Montbard with its direct TGV link to
Paris).
Main House -

There is a lovely cook (optional) but the owners strongly recommend her. She is
a really good cook and is excellent value for a really relaxing carefree
holiday. In High Season it is a condition of the let that you definitely have
the cook. (Please apply to us for details as this cost is not included in the
rental price). It is also a condition of the let that the maids clean for a
minimum of three hours per week. The cost of these first three hours is included
in the rental price. For extra hours please contact the owner.
The Barn & Music Room
(never let independently of the Main House) -

The barn adjoins the main house on the first floor and has a separate entrance.
The barn has views that overlook the pool. In the barn room above the stables is
a large studio room cum music room and two more double bedrooms. The music room
has a grand piano, simple sofa and chairs. The tall French windows lead onto an
elegant balcony and stone staircase down to the pool.
Two bedrooms - both with twin beds which can be made into doubles. Both rooms
en-suite.

Gate House -
2 bedrooms, sleeps 4
This charming, simple 18th century stone Gate House nestles up against the
elegant gateway to the park of the Chateau. The house is simple and on one
level.
Living room/kitchen- this large room has its original flagstone floor and a very
efficient log burning stove. There is a washing machine, an iron and ironing
board, an electric fridge and a cooker.
Bedroom 1 - twin beds which can be made up as a double bed.
Bedroom 2 - with double bed.
Bathroom.
Blankets and pillows are provided but tenants are asked to bring all their own
linen.
Outside
The Gate House, unless let with the Main House, is totally separate and has no
access to the pool or park however it does have a large secluded garden with a
barbecue area with access to the river and its own little boat. There is space
for you to park your car beside the house which you enter by the garden door.
Garden furniture is provided.
The Cook
We have a lovely cook (optional) and we strongly recommend her. She is a really
good cook and is excellent value for a really relaxing carefree holiday. She
does all the cooking and shopping for you during your stay at the Chateau. We
supply you with her suggested menus and shopping lists to help you decide what
you would like. You can either discuss it with her direct or we can make all the
arrangements for you. Please apply to us for further details. In Peak Season it
is a condition of the let that you definitely have the cook/maid services.

Maids
On arrival the rooms will be ready with beds made up, clean towels and fresh
flowers according to season. When appropriate the drawing room log fire will be
lit to welcome you. The maids are very flexible and happy to give you extra help
with any of the following, which can be discussed with them when you arrive.
Breakfast - preparing and leaving for you to serve yourselves (approx. 30
minutes) and/or clearing away (approx. 30 to 45 minutes).
Lunch and/or Dinner - serving, clearing away, loading machine and washing up.
Additional laundry and ironing.
Baby sitting.
Flower arranging.
It is a condition of the let that the maids clean for a minimum of three hours
per week. The cost of these first three hours is included in the rental price.
Guardian / Gardener
The house, park, swimming pool and tennis court are all maintained by the
guardian free of charge. The guardian is an excellent handyman and takes care of
any household maintenance problems.
Activity Holidays
For 2 weeks in Spring and in Autumn the owners run Painting Holidays and in
November run a Wine Week. The tutors are excellent and there is a really good
party atmosphere.
Travel
By TGV: 1 hr Paris-Montbard (15 mins from the house). Ideal for day trips. Car
hire available in Montbard. Direct route also available London (via Lille) to
Montbard in around four hours.
By Car: 4.5hrs from Calais, 2.5hrs from Paris, 1hr from Dijon
