Description
A wonderful opportunity is now available to visitors to Versailles, where the opulent Château de Versailles stands as one of the most visited attractions in France. We have discovered a perfect place to stay in this lovely small city with much to offer in addition to the Château. An exceptional accommodation in the best residential neighbourhood of the city is the manor house, a sophisticated, elegant mansion owned by Daniel-Etienne Hourdry, retired manager of the famous Paris restaurant, Maxim's. Monsieur and Madame Hourdry have created an oasis for guests who want stay in the Paris area. The location of their exceptional chambres d'hôtes is convenient to the attractions in the countryside near Paris and Versailles, in particular Giverny, home of Claude Monet, and is less than a half hour by RER train to Paris. The five guest rooms - one is a suite with a sitting room - all have views over the garden, some have balconies and from one you can see the Park of Versailles. While at the house, guests can relax in the quiet, comfortably furnished library complemented with Louis XVI pier glass, portraits of ancestors and a good collection of books, or in the salon to share conversation with fellow travellers or play the piano. Breakfast and dinner are served in an elegant dining room or guests can enjoy afternoon tea and cakes (baked by your hostess - she will share her recipes with you) in the sunny conservatory surrounded by nature. M. Hourdry also makes his home available for group functions such as dinners, lunches and cocktail parties. And, just-married couples are attentively cared for if they choose to honeymoon in Versailles and be guests at this refined and gracious property. the property is the ideal accommodation for those who seek the atmosphere of a country home without foregoing the convenience of city life.
